Art + Soul Oakland is excited to announce the inaugural Oaktown Throwdown BBQ competition to the festival.

Professional and backyard smokers from all over the region will compete for cash prizes a
nd the honor of being awarded “Grand Champion.” Many of these professionals are multi-award winning chefs from other regional barbeque competitions.
The weekend will include “You-Be-the-Judge” People’s Choice Awards, bbq cooking
demonstrations, bourbon and wine tastings, whole hog roast, and sales of barbeque-related merchandise. And the best part…enjoying hot-off-the-smoker samples from seasoned professionals.
The BBQ competition takes place on Saturday, August 2, as part of Art + Soul Oakland.
